Welcome to Second Robotics recommended reading list.

We have put a “must have” next to books that we consider no proper robot lab should be without.

Electronic Sensor Circuits and Projects by Forrest M. Mims

Circuit Scrapbook by Forrest M. Mims  “must have”

Any, and I mean any, electronics book written by Forrest M. Mims.  Some of the books may be dated, but as many of you know the basic building blocks of electronics have not changed dramatically, they have just got smaller.

Make: Electronics (learning by discovery)

Robot Builder’s Bonanza, 5th Edition  “must have”

Junkbot, Bugbots, and Bots on Wheels

Mobile Robots: Inspiration to Implementation, Second Edition

Online resources can also be a wealth of information. This can be in the form of Instructables on Make to college papers on the subject you are trying to learn. There is always something to learn about robotics.

The Nature of Code  “must have/read”

Robot Programming : A practical guide to behavior-based robotics  “must have”

Ada’ Algorithm – by James Essinger – How Ada Lovelace the daughter of Lord Byron shaped the future of modern computers with her strong understanding of math and science

Robot Brains: Circuits and Systems for Conscious Machines by Pentti O. Haikonen – A book exploring concepts for building cognitive robotics though analog hardware based associative neural networks

The Martian: A Novel by Andy Weir
